About the Role
AMERISAFE is seeking a detail-oriented and productivity-driven professional to join our Excellence Team in DeRidder, LA. As an underwriter, you will analyze and assess risks to determine insurance coverage and terms. Upon completing our in-depth training program, you will be equipped to effectively underwrite and manage an assigned book of business.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and service an assigned book of new and/or renewal workers' compensation policies to contribute to AMERISAFE's profit and production goals.
- Apply sound judgment in determining an insurance risk's acceptability through detailed research and risk analysis.
- Work as an effective team member to develop and foster professional relationships with internal and external customers.
- Participate in projects, professional development opportunities, and special assignments.
Requirements
- Minimum high school diploma, college degree preferred.
- Insurance underwriting experience desired.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, and analyze information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel periodically (less than 10% of time) and possess a valid driver's license.
