Function
This position is responsible for the implementation of AmeriServ’s Business Services initiative, to include sale of all Commercial Business Service Products (i.e. remote deposit capture, lockbox, merchant services, internet banking cash management service, internet banking payroll service, etc.). This initiative requires the incumbent to accomplish front line sales activities with support from Commercial Banking and Retail Banking personnel; it also requires this individual to lead and coordinate backroom activities with support from Compliance and IS personnel. Moderate travel is required.
Duties
This position requires no supervision of employees.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
The employee is frequently required to: 1) Type or otherwise work with fingers; 2) Talk expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers or clients accurately, loudly, or quickly; 3) Hearing – perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with/without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and make the discriminations in sound; 4) Specific vision abilities required by this job include; viewing a computer monitor, extensive reading.
Sedentary work may require occasionally lifting of up to 10 pounds and/or up to 25 pounds. This work involves sitting most of the time with walking and sitting.

Competencies
A bachelor’s degree in business with concentration in computer applications, or similar background and experience along with working knowledge of cash management products is required. A minimum of three (3) years of business to business sales experience is required. Requires demonstrated ability to analyze business situations and convert into optimal Business Services product mix to meet needs of the customer with reasonable return to the bank and value-added service to the customer.

Duties
- Acquire and retain Business Services customers on a profitable basis, utilizing a pro-active and collaborative business development effort (independently, and with Commercial and Retail Banking personnel) to meet deposit and fee income goals of the Commercial Banking Division associated with products (i.e. remote deposit capture, merchant services, internet banking cash management service, internet banking payroll service, etc.). This should be accomplished through the following:
- Develop a list of prospects for targeted sales efforts, to include joint sales calls/referrals from Commercial Banking Officers and the Retail Banking Division, as well as leads/referrals from community activities, and in-house customer databases.
- Conduct a minimum of 20 monthly meetings with current and prospective customers to determine the optimal Business Services product mix to concurrently meet the needs of the customer and provide a reasonable return to the bank.
- At least annually, complete customer calls and service the existing portfolio of ACH and RDC Business Services customers to determine that the customer’s current product mix remains appropriate to concurrently meet the needs of the customer, provide a reasonable return to the bank, assure continued customer satisfaction, and assure conformity with product terms and conditions.
- Attend Commercial Banking Business Services and Retail Banking sales meetings as required.
- Analyze customer business and cash management practices to design the optimal product mix to concurrently meet the needs of the customer, provide a reasonable return to the bank and provide value added customer service. Provide and present customized cash management/Business Services product analyses, reports and product proposals/solutions to existing and potential customers during sales visits.
- Implement and/or coordinate installation and implementation of appropriate Business Services software between the customer and the third-party software providers.as necessary.
- Document and report business development calls and existing customer visits/calls as requested by supervisor. Manage referrals through the referral system(s).
- Work cooperatively with all Commercial Banking, Retail Banking, Compliance and IS personnel to develop, maintain and administer appropriate policies and procedures for all Business Services products (i.e. remote deposit capture, merchant services, internet banking cash management service, internet banking payroll service, etc.).
- Maintain awareness of developing trends in the market regarding the type, structure and customer benefits relating to the various Business Services products.
- Maintain current knowledge of and assure adherence to compliance/regulatory requirements, policy and procedure requirements and appropriate risk management processes relating to all Business Services products to accomplish appropriate balance of risk management in these areas.
- Participate in the preparation and management of annual budgets with attention to cost control and performance within more favorable than budget parameters, or when feasible.
- Enhance and promote AmeriServ Financial Bank through participation in community, social and professional organizations, activities, and projects.
