Job Description

Located just east of downtown Kansas City, Ameristar Casino and Hotel Kansas City is a Midwestern entertainment hub that offers something for everyone. Ameristar Casino and Hotel has one of the largest casino floors in Missouri, amazing dining venues, a newly renovated luxury hotel,on-site childcare and more. Ameristar also offers convenient parking in a five-level, 2,660 space parking structure with an enclosed, climate-controlled walkway to the casino and entertainment center. Ameristar Casino and Hotel is seeking a Food Server in our Amerisports Bar. Amerisports is our premier sports bar, offering a fun place to meet, enjoy burgers, wings, amazing cocktails, beer and watch your favorite sports teams. The successful candidate willserve food and beverages to guests in a quick, efficient and courteous manner.

• Greet guests with a smile!
• Must be familiar with menu, daily specials, and preparation of foods and prices
• Use suggestive selling (i.e., cocktails, appetizers, desserts, etc.)
• Take customer’s orders and accurately input the order into the computer
• Observe and anticipate guest’s needs, keeping table cleared between courses, and beverages filled throughout their meal
• Present check for payment when all guests’ needs have been met
• Practice good safety procedures
• Adhere to department and property policies and procedures
• This is a uniformed position, which requires that team members are in compliance with uniformed appearance standards while on duty

Required Knowledge And Skills

• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Excellent ability to multitask
• Knowledge of up selling techniques

Required Education And Work Experience

• At least 6 months experience as a server in a dining establishment
