Ameristar Financial Corporation is a private mortgage lending company located in Ballston Spa, New York. The Company currently lends in 6 states and is looking to expand along the East Coast and ultimately become a national private lender. The Company's target audience are real estate investors that are looking to fix and flip real estate, develop real estate or buy and hold single or multi-family properties for long term wealth building. The Company is an equity-based lender and has its own funds to lend and is not a traditional lender that examines debt to income ratios or requires full blown mortgage application with tax returns, financials and other asset verification. We service real estate investors, builders, developers, self-employed business owners, mortgage and commercial brokers and receive referrals of Clients of lawyers and accountants.

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Private Mortgage Originator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for guiding clients through the mortgage application process, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring a smooth transaction from start to finish. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial sales skills and work with our Underwriter to successfully close a transaction.

Duties

• Attend local Real Estate Investor Assocation meetings and develop relationships with real estate investors.
• Attend real estate agent, mortgage broker and other events.
• Attend local mortgage and tax foreclosure auctions.
• Attend real estate functions, events and conferences.
• Follow-up on all Company provided leads and call existing Borrowers to expand the current lending relationship.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients to understand their mortgage needs and provide tailored solutions.
• Assist clients in completing mortgage applications and gathering necessary documentation.
• Evaluate client financial information to determine eligibility for various loan products.
• Negotiate loan terms with clients and lenders to secure the best possible outcomes.
• Utilize financial software to manage client accounts and track loan progress effectively.
• Provide ongoing support throughout the mortgage process, addressing any questions or concerns promptly.
• Collaborate with other professionals, including real estate agents and underwriters, to facilitate smooth transactions.
• Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and changes in mortgage products to provide accurate advice.

Experience

• Proven experience in financial sales or as a loan officer is preferred.
• Familiarity with mortgage servicing processes and loan processing is highly desirable.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with clients.
• Proficiency in using financial software for managing loans and client information.
• Excellent negotiation skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Basic math skills for calculating loan amounts, interest rates, and payments are essential.
• Knowledge of reading credit reports, title reports and appraisals is important.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
