What are the responsibilities and job description for the Glazier's Assistant position at Ameristar Screen and Glass?
The Glazier assistant/helper will perform a wide range of physical labor tasks in support of Glaziers at a job site while wearing all required safety gear. Individuals with no glazing experience are encouraged to apply as this is an opportunity for growth and development within the industry.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assists skilled workers as assigned. This may include jobs such as cleaning or carrying glass.
- Cleans and prepares specific areas of jobsite as assigned.
- Operates a wide variety of hand and power tools.
- Cleans jobsites throughout the day, ensuring trash is properly disposed of and materials and/or equipment are properly stored.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to listen to, understand, and follow directions.
- Ability to remain flexible as specific assignments change.
- Ability to work with a variety of personalities.
- Ability to work as a team.
- Ability to work scheduled shift as scheduled
Education and Experience:
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
- High School diploma or equivalent
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing, climbing, bending, and kneeling.
- Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to safely work with sharp tools and/or power equipment.
- Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and terrains.
- Must have manual dexterity, a good sense of balance, and excellent hand-eye coordination.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
