Duration: 12-month contract with possible extension
Pay Rate: b/w $30/hr - $36/hr (depending on experience)

Job Summary:
This is a laboratory-based role within the Specimen Management - Clinical Lab unit. The Phlebotomist/Lab Assistant will play a key role in evaluating, executing, and reporting on the safety and efficacy of new or modified in-vitro diagnostic devices. The position involves subject recruitment, blood collection, specimen preparation, and performing screening procedures according to study protocols. The role requires technical proficiency in both phlebotomy and sample processing and a strong commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Collect blood from volunteers, ensuring OSHA compliance and participant confidentiality
- Recruit and verify suitability of subjects for clinical studies per protocol and ASCP guidelines
- Perform venipunctures and fingersticks, maintaining specimen integrity using aseptic techniques
- Track specimens, document metrics, and maintain accurate records of lab activities
- Conduct pre- and post-analytical processing of lab specimens
- Ensure data accuracy and reliability in all testing procedures
- Maintain lab cleanliness and organization, including biohazard waste management and surface disinfection
- Store lab deliveries and monitor equipment such as refrigerators/freezers
- Provide general administrative and technical support across lab departments
- Interface with cross-functional teams (R&D, QA, Regulatory, Marketing, Manufacturing)
- Support training, product evaluations, and contribute to departmental initiatives
Knowledge & Skills Required:
- 5–10 years of phlebotomy experience in a hospital or regulated clinical environment
- Strong communication, reading, and writing skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel
- Ability to follow SOPs, research topics, and document results precisely
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of an accredited phlebotomy program
Licenses & Certifications:
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT)
- Certification from either:
- National Healthcareer Association (NHA), or
- National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
