Overview:
Our client, a Medical Center facility under the aegis of a California Public Ivy university and one of largest health delivery systems in California, seeks an accomplished Research Biller.

*** Duration: 24 weeks contract with the possibility of extension
Notes:
- Onsite role.
- Work hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm Pacific Time, one hour lunch.
Description:
- Primary responsibilities include performance of project management, daily billing review and approval of all research billing charges in CareConnect, and management of the billing approvals in CareConnect, Excel, hard copy paper bills, or Excel spreadsheets.
- Work with the study teams to reconcile billing charges via phone, E-mail, or in person.
- Work with CareConnect Super Users to report any billing corrections or system problems.
- Quality control of registration and billing errors, correction of billing, development, and maintenance of billing, and OnCore update reports.
- Develop reports for Management.
- Review research protocols to the budget to validate exams and determine if a contract amendment is needed or to determine the correct billing path.
- Work with Management on billing-related projects.
- Provide overall billing support to the Finance Office and serve as backup for divisional needs.
- Assist with special projects as requested.
Required Qualifications:
- 2 years of medical billing experience.
- Strong knowledge of CPT codes and medical terminology, specifically within Hematology Oncology.
- Strong Excel Skills (ability to generate reports).
- Strong cross functional communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills relating to analyzing data.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Clinical trials billing experience.
- Budgeting experience.
- CareConnect/EPIC.
