The New Business Representative will "own" and be accountable for Annuity policy applications as they move through the issuance process including initial review of the application through the final receipt of forms on delivery. The role is responsible for customer service, issuance, and administrative functions. Interpret and fulfill all requirements necessary for accurate processing, following current procedures in accordance with industry/state regulations and compliance directives. Stay current on product and case education and associate training/coaching.
This role will work without close supervision and exercise independent judgment while problem solving and resolving system/processing issues in a professional manner. Utilize time management and organizational skills while prioritizing, multitasking, and swiveling quickly between assignments. Willingly work within a team concept to accomplish departmental goals. Work within a fast-paced environment; with a strong commitment to driving down policy turnaround times.

Position Location:
This is a hybrid role working partially in-office (Lincoln, NE or Cincinnati, OH) and partially from home.
What you do:
- Research of customer needs and problems; develop informed, innovative solutions; and decisive action within defined parameters of authority; to build customer loyalty while maintaining the financial and procedural integrity of the case. This includes assisting customers/producers via both phone and email.
- Manage an average caseload of 40-60 new applications per month at various stages in the issuance process.
- Field customer inquiries and utilize empathy and patience with all customers.
- Utilize web-based systems in a paperless environment to order, retrieve, manage case activity, and organize requirements.
- Work in a cross-functional team environment with a sense of urgency.
- Meet or exceed service standards with respect to accuracy, turnaround time and overall quality of work product and service.
- Responsible for account reconciliation, utilizing appropriate system.
- Correspond with Legal and Compliance departments as necessary for assistance in handling complex cases and customer complaints.
- Handle and complete assignments and projects within provided timeframes.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 0-2 years of related experience required.
- 1 year of experience in a customer service environment highly preferred.
- Experience in the financial services or insurance industry is desired.
- Experience with annuity products is desired.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy required.
- Ability to work overtime (as needed to meet business needs) required.
- Prior experience with or quick ability to effectively learn various computer software applications required.
