Position: Construction Safety Manager

Overview
Oversee all aspects of safety and health of employees, subcontractors, and the public at assigned construction projects.
Oversee, develop, and implement local, divisional, and system-level safety related initiatives to reduce and/or eliminate injuries and accidents, provide technical guidance and support to reduce hazards in the workplace.
Duties/Responsibilities
· Coordinate and conduct worksite inspections, assessments, surveys, and program evaluations to identify potential hazards.
· Assist in preparing and reviewing job-specific safety plans and JSAs.
· Perform safety audits and inspections, prepares written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective or preventative measures.
· Execute health and safety plans on jobsites and train employees on safety policies to encourage a culture of health and safety.
· Delivers corrective action & disciplinary measures with employees who fail to comply with expected safety standards.
· Assist in implementation of corrective actions as it relates to the incident.
· Collaborate with superintendents, project managers, and GCs on investigations of incidents and document properly.
· Coordinate and conduct worksite inspections for compliance with all applicable safety and health regulations and contract requirements.
· Plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA and DOT.
Qualifications
· Five (5) years’ experience in safety and health or equivalent combination of related education and/or experience to meet the minimum requirements of a job.
· EM 385 certified or the ability to obtain the qualifications.
· OSHA 10 & 30 construction certification.
· Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
· CHST certification, preferred.
· CSP or ASP certification, preferred.
· Familiar with DOSH, ANSI, NFPA, EPA regulations
· Possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing. Experience with Procore, preferred.
· Experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
· Bachelor’s degree, preferred.
· Sound judgment and ethics.
· Ability to pass background check and obtain DBIDS clearance.
· Ability to pass FRA drug test.
· Valid driver’s license.
Physical Requirements
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time)
Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee works alternately on-site at the construction work site and in an office environment. On-site may be exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud. In offices, the noise level is quiet to moderately loud.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
