Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Paint Department Supervisor to join our innovative, fast-growing company. The position is responsible for supervising blast, paint, and powder coating employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment. Our paint shop produces high quality products and our customers brag about our finished paint jobs.

Essential Functions

- Ensure effective employee relations. Provide employee coaching and development. Makes employment decisions. Resolve employee issues through problem resolution.
- Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Work to continuously improve in all areas.
- Manage departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports to managers.
- Perform accident investigations.
- Maintain proper inventory levels.
- Managing department priorities.
- Track absenteeism and timekeeping.
- Conduct Time studies to determine workstations and headcount.
- Hire and train new employees.
- Generate and keep proper documentation for each employee (training)
- Evaluate employees
- Ensure specs make products
Competencies
- Bilingual English and Spanish
- Basic lean concepts
- Read paint specifications in drawings
- Forklift experience
- Crane experience
Supervisory Responsibility
This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. Outdoor 80% indoor 20%.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Experience
- At least 5 years of experience in metal cold painting and powder coating processes.
