Jr. Mechanical Engineer

This role is responsible for performing general machine operation duties to support the manufacturing process for the Magic state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment and responsible to ensure production line is operating within the approved timeliness of production.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but are not limited to:

• Follows safety guidelines and procedures set for this role.
• Always wears the assigned PPE and follows the PPE guidelines set by the business.
• Does not operate any equipment, machinery, or tool(s) if he/she has not been trained to.
• Sets up and programs the machine operating parameters
• Effectively monitors production and optimizes performance parameters.
• Produces products per specifications in a high-speed machine environment.
• Performs initial product quality control, with basic measurements per given parameters and adjusts machinery when required.
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment
• Ensures that the basic raw materials and consumables needed for a production run are planned.
• Provides formal reports by filling out required performance data.
• Follows the production/batch plan according to the daily plan.
• Communicates equipment failure or malfunction to the maintenance team immediately.
• Performs pre-operation inspection to ensure the equipment is safe and ready and in safe operating conditions.
• Follows LOTO and OSHA requirements outlined by the EHS department and based on the Standard Operating Procedures for this equipment.
• Programs and executes the production schedule using the PLC panels and any other automated features
• Ensures the materials/WIP produced meet the quality standards set by the business.
• If necessary, maintains the correct fluid levels to ensure proper lubrication and the equipment functions correctly.
• Reports quality issues or deficiencies to the Department Lead, Supervisor or Manager immediately.
• Supports the production flow by organizing the materials and cages after completing the production process.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Department Lead, Supervisor, Manager, or a member of the Management Team.

EDUCATION

• Highschool Diploma or associate degree in engineering.
• BA in mechanical engineering desired but not required

EXPERIENCE

• Proficiency as a large-scale machine operator using PLC capabilities and controls.
• At least three years of experience operating equipment with PLC and automatic controls systems.
• Strong attention to detail required.
• Apprenticeship or vocational training is an advantage

Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, team members, customers, and the public.
