JOB OVERVIEW: Under limited supervision, the Escrow Officer 2 is responsible for managing the escrow process for moderately complex real estate transactions from beginning to end, ensuring accuracy, compliance and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Oversees the escrow process from start to finish for residential, commercial and/or national transactions, including opening, processing, and closing escrow accounts in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Prepares documents, closing statements and escrow instructions, presents to buyers and sellers at closing and coordinates timing of closing, recording, disbursement of funds and issuance of title insurance policy.
Communicates accurately, timely, and effectively with all parties involved in the transaction.
Safeguards and manages the disbursement of escrow funds, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and funds are properly distributed at closing.
Ensures compliance with all terms and conditions of the purchase and sale agreement.
Addresses and resolves any issues or discrepancies that arise during the escrow process, maintaining a proactive and solution-oriented approach.
Markets, establishes and maintains business relationships with potential and existing clients
through professional, social, civic and community groups that promote the services and
goodwill of the company.
Performs notary duties following the National Notary Association guidelines.
Provides educational support to clients as requested.
Advises junior Escrow Officers on less complicated transactions.
May provide performance feedback on Escrow Assistants and junior Escrow Officers as requested.
May provide training and oversee activities of Escrow Assistants, including task assignment, to ensure all business operating practices are executed in a timely manner.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
2-3 years progressive experience in an escrow, title or real estate environment. At least 2 years’ of experience as an Escrow Assistant and/or Escrow Officer.
Skills:
- Thorough knowledge of residential real estate escrows and title insurance.
- Excellent organizational skills
- Attention to detail & strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks.
- Excellent communication and customer service
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PPT, Teams) and title/escrow software & systems.
- Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate information relevant to job requirements.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
- Valid Notary Commission.
- Valid state driver’s license.
