Position Summary:
TRC’s Bus Engineering Division is in search of a Qualified In-Plant Quality Assurance Inspector to join our team. This position will be responsible for ensuring that our client’s buses are manufactured in compliance with FTA Buy America requirements, TRC’s inspection standards, as well as our client’s specifications.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Transit Resource Center is a nationally-known consulting firm in the field of bus technology, bus design, alternative propulsion systems, bus maintenance, and bus manufacturing (particularly in-plant inspection and Buy America auditing services).
We are seeking experienced candidates in the area of bus manufacturing for Traveling In-plant Bus Inspector positions. Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in bus maintenance or bus manufacturing, previous experience inspecting or working on heavy-duty transit vehicles and/or paratransit vehicles is highly preferred. Considerable travel to client locations and bus manufacturing sites all around the United States is involved.
Job Description:
Travel to various in-plant bus inspection assignments that range from 1 week to 9 months in length.
- Represent the contracting transit authority at the manufacturing plant (acting as their eyes and ears) during the production of their transit vehicles.
- Reading and understanding the bus specifications ensuring that vehicles are being built to technical specifications.
- Keeping a deficiency log on each vehicle and conducting a weekly report for the transit authority on the progress of their bus build.
- Must have computer literacy to work in Excel, Word, email, and Google Drive.
- This is a 1099 contract position, however, all travel expenses are paid and/or reimbursed.
- Ability to travel and work on the road 95% of the time is required.
THIS IS A CONTRACT 1099 POSITION WITH A UNIQUE COMPENSATION STRUCTURE.
