Who We're Looking For

We are currently looking to hire a Veterinary Assistant to join our team! The ideal candidate will be a dependable, detail-oriented team player who loves animals and being part of a fun, supportive team. They will have experience rooming patients, surgical assisting experience, and knowledge of equipment used, drawing blood and running bloodwork, knowledge of x-rays and proper positioning, experience with proper animal handling and restraint, understanding the importance of client education, and being a positive and motivating team member.

The hourly pay rate for this position is $15.00 - $18.00 per hour, which varies depending on experience, education, certifications, licensure, and location.

Requirements:

• Obtain history and vitals, and assist the veterinarian with examinations
• Enter charges for services and medications prescribed, fill medications from the in-house pharmacy when requested
• Perform duties included, but not limited to, venipuncture, cystocentesis, radiographs, administration of injections (SQ, IM, IV), care for surgical and hospital patients
• Collect laboratory samples and run diagnostics as requested by the veterinarian
• Clean exam rooms and treatment areas
• Prepare surgical patients, monitor anesthesia during procedures
• Understand both preventative and emergency care, and be comfortable explaining procedures to clients
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work on your feet
• Veterinary experience: 1 year (Preferred)
• Veterinary assistant: 1 year (Preferred)
