What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Drill/Dance Team Coach position at Ames Community School District?
The Ames High School coaching staff is seeking a Head Drill/Dance Team Coach.
Work Schedule: 2-3 hours per day (4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m) Monday-Friday with various nights and weekends.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Supervises and prepares Drill Team for performances.
- Schedules and attends all practice sessions before, during, or after school.
- Participates in dance competitions/events throughout the school year.
- Maintains a dance program and performance schedule throughout the school year.
- Follows proper procedures for the purchase of equipment and materials necessary for program operation.
- Conducts of fundraising activities necessary to support the operation of the program.
- Assists in planning pep assembles and coordinates with other coaches and activity sponsors, building principals, and the Athletic Director.
- Coordinates any summer camps with the Athletic Director.
- Participates in special events to include banquets, award nights, and pep assemblies.
- Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures.
- Attends staff development meetings, clinics, and other professional activities to improve coaching performance.
- Maintains forms and equipment inventory as assigned by the Head Coach.
- Assists with other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience coaching dance team at the high school level preferred.
Compensation: $3,491 season stipend
