Ames Middle School is seeking an Integrated Services Special Education Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. You will be joining a team of teachers working together to get students what they need to be successful.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Demonstrates the ability to enhance academic performance.
- Demonstrates competence in content knowledge appropriate to the teaching position.
- Demonstrates competence in planning and preparing for instruction.
- Uses strategies to deliver instruction that meets the multiple learning needs of students.
- Uses effective classroom management strategies.
- Fulfills all the responsibilities of the IEP: timely and current progress monitoring, uses progress monitoring to guide instruction, etc.
- Works collaboratively with other educational professionals.
- Engages in professional growth.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Valid Iowa teaching license with Strat I or Strat I Endorsement required.
- 5-12 Strategist Strategist II: LD/BD or willingness to obtain preferred.
- Effective problem-solving techniques in dealing with concerns or issues.
- Ability to work effectively as member of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Collaborative team player with a growth mindset.
- Observation of all District policies and procedures.
- A sense of belonging and a welcoming environment for all students and staff.
