Ames High School is seeking two Instructional Strategist II : ID Special Education Teachers for the 2024-25 school year.

Responsibilities / Essential Functions :

Demonstrates the ability to enhance academic performance.

Demonstrates competence in content knowledge appropriate to the teaching position.

Demonstrates competence in planning and preparing for instruction.

Uses strategies to deliver instruction that meets the multiple learning needs of students.

Uses effective classroom management strategies.

Fulfills all the responsibilities of the IEP : timely and current progress monitoring, uses progress monitoring to guide instruction, etc.

Works collaboratively with other educational professionals.

Engages in professional growth.

Qualifications :

Valid Iowa teaching license

Instructional Strategist Strategist II : ID (K-12) endorsement or willingness to obtain required

The successful candidate will exhibit :

A basic understanding of the needs of children and the ability to relate to children with different academic and behavioral needs

Professional communications skills, both orally and written

Patience and compassion while maintaining a caring and helpful relationship with children

Initiative and the insight to anticipate problem situations and respond accordingly

Ability to create a sense of belonging and welcoming environment for all students and staff

Ability to bend, lift, sit on the floor, run short distances, and assist physically active students

Consistent and punctual attendance
