At Ames Copper Group, we are seeking a dedicated results-driven Maintenance Technician in our Canastota, NY, location. As one of the largest non-ferrous metal merchants, polymer, and processors in the United States, we operate state-of-the-art processing facilities across the country.
Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining equipment in the facility, including all manufacturing process equipment, mechanical, and electrical repairs, as well as structural maintenance of the building and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Observe equipment operation to detect potential problems.
- Define parts required after troubleshooting is complete.
- Maintain inventories of tools, spare parts, and consumable supplies.
- Requisition tools, spare parts, and consumable supplies.
- Adjust equipment for optimal performance.
- Maintain repair or maintenance records.
- Ability to read and understand machine drawings, building prints, electrical, and plumbing schematics.
- Develop preventative maintenance programs for all equipment and facility-related equipment.
- Perform equipment installations as required and defined by Engineering.
- Have experience in welding, plumbing, electrical, compressed air, and working with process controls.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance shop and facility.
- Operate forklift and scissor lift as required.

- Minimum of 2-5 years of Mechanical and Electrical maintenance experience.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
