Summary As an Information Technology Specialist (Systems Analysis) with the Intelligent Systems Division at NASA Ames Research Center, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software to support the Center's Intelligent Adaptive Systems core competency. You will lead the creation of software and tools that cover the full spectrum of research, design, and development phases, as well as project implementation and operation phases on flight missions. Responsibilities Direct, create, and manage innovative product development for information and data systems for NASA missions. Responsible for data requirements discovery and definition, design specifications, development, deployment, and functional operations of integrated ground, flight, or enterprise data systems. Ensure data systems are designed and implemented so that users of the data systems have sufficient information to interpret the data and make decisions through the use of robust, granular metadata, and thorough documentation of data elements. Ensure proper software integration for systems with multiple, disparate data sources and develops software architectures that improve data analysis, processing stability, and / or throughput for increased science return for NASA missions. Serve as a subject matter expert for various information and data systems, writing proposals, analyzing and defining requirements, conducting technical evaluations, and making recommendations to management within the functional areas of expertise. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. To qualify for GS-14, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level. Developing, implementing, and maintaining software for efficient and safe operation of spacecraft, aircraft, engineered, or information systems; Providing oversight of training objectives, plans, and processes for the operation of spacecraft, aircraft, engineered, or information systems; Troubleshooting, documenting, and resolving the occurrence of anomalies in the operation of spacecraft, aircraft, engineered, or information systems. AND IF you are qualifying based on experience, you MUST also have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below : Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
