Quality Control Manager - Jt. Base Andrews, Maryland
AMES1, Inc is looking for a qualified individual who will be responsible for managing daily Quality Control activities on a project at Joint Base Andrews. The candidate must be able to conduct Quality Control Meetings, perform inspections, review submittals, and ensure testing is performed.
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
- Develop and Administer the Quality Control Plan for the project (following Army Corps Three Phases of Control).
- Prepare all Quality Control certifications and documentation as required.
- Certify that all submittals are in compliance with contract requirements.
- Review plans and specifications to ensure requirements are met for each construction process.
- Provide documented evaluations, assessments, and CQC assistance to staff and subcontractor personnel.
- Review all catalog cuts and material submittals for compliance with plans and specifications.
- Ensure all water, soil, materials, and mechanical systems testing are conducted by approved personnel and/or approved testing agencies.
- Distribute written inspection/test results to appropriate agencies.
- Ensure effective and timely preventive and corrective actions are taken and recurrence of problems are eliminated or minimized.
- Conduct pre final inspections/ establish punch list if required, ensure all deficiencies are corrected.
- Coordinate and conduct final inspections with government contracting and civil engineer personnel.
- Submit as-builts on finished projects.
Job Requirements:
- 7-10 years in vertical construction experience required AND 5 years on projects $10-15M or greater as project Quality Control Manager.
- In depth understanding of all construction divisions. Knowledge of construction i.e. prints, plans, procedures, scheduling and testing.
- Certification in Construction Quality Management for Contractors from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
- Experience and ability to manage the Army Corp of Engineers RMS for submitting daily reports, tracking deficiencies, and submitting FRI, material, and product submittals.
- Must have excellent computer, written and oral communication skills.
- Stable job history.
- Must treat others with dignity and respect.
- Must be willing to work onsite (vs remotely).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to maneuver around at various construction sites which may include climbing ladders and stairs, walking on roofs, and walking on trails, creeks, and uneven and/or slippery terrain.
- Must be able to work in hot temperatures outside (sometimes extreme), as needed by job responsibilities.
- May require long periods of sitting, standing, and/or and working on computer.
- May require some travel- both by flying or driving.
- Must be able to visually inspect work projects at project sites and compare to specifications.
- Able to work in extreme weather conditions - including below zero temperatures, ice, snow)
