What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler position at Amesbury Group Inc?
Quanex is looking for a safety conscious, Material Handler to join our Day Shift team located in Statesville, North Carolina
In this role, you are responsible for setting up pallets to meet schedules, checking parts and boxing the material, printing labels and palletizing the material for shipping. This position also assists with scrap reporting, and operating equipment during breaks and lunches.

What Success Looks Like:
- Follows all safety procedures, rules, and guidelines and identifies any existing or potential safety issues.
- Attends work on time and for scheduled hours each day.
- Loads lines with raw material and keeps lines adequately stocked
- Replenishes kanban storage area to maintain levels about restocking point.
- Performs periodic quality checks.
- Works on lines to assist with timely order completion.
- Delivers material to staging areas
- Promotes teamwork by cooperating and supporting co-workers.
- Maintains 5 S Standards and keeps work area clean and organized.
What You Bring:
- 1 year of work experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Ability to use measuring tape and handheld calculator.
- Basic math skills – able to add, subtract, divide and multiply basic numbers
The hourly wage for this position is $18.50 per hour.
