We are looking for an Assent Compliance Specialist to join our team! This role is eligible to sit from any Quanex site in the USA. As the Assent Compliance Specialist for our North American operations, this position will play a key role in the implementation and maintenance of proprietary Assent Compliance platform for materials declarations. This position ensures that we meets product and ethical sourcing requirements in its sustainability strategy and compliance with regulations such as REACH, RoHS, Conflict Minerals, Prop 65, TSCA and PFAs.
Responsibilities :
- Manage and maintain compliance data within the Assent Compliance platform ensuring accuracy and accessibility for key stakeholders.
- Co-ordinate with product and materials teams to gather required documentation and ensure all products meet global, regional and category compliance standards.
- Reach out to suppliers to collect and validate compliance documentation (e.g. material declarations, certificates).
- Engage with suppliers to ensure accurate, up to date data on product components and raw materials.
- Address supplier non-compliance or gaps in documentation through collaborative resolution and education.
- Conduct periodic compliance assessments and audits of supplier-provided data, identifying risks and implementing corrective / preventative actions.
- Develop and present compliance reports and scorecards for internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Track and report on key metrics related to sustainability compliance and supplier performance.
- Implement best practices for compliance processes to increase data reliability and efficiency.
- Provide training and support for internal teams on compliance related topics, including Assent Compliance tools and regulatory standards.
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned to leverage the capabilities of Assent Compliance platform, including data collection for compliance tasks (e.g. packaging) and lower carbon materials (Scope 3 emissions).
- Work closely with procurement, product development, quality assurance and legal teams to integrate compliance into all aspects of product development and sourcing.
- Support corporate sustainability initiatives by contributing to external disclosures (e.g. sustainability reporting and related stakeholder communications.
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
