AmesburyTruth is looking for a Quality Engineer to join our team in Statesville, NC! As a Quality Engineer you will be responsible for managing quality system design, identification of areas for measurement, and the implementation of systems to gather data to ensure target levels are achieved.
Responsibilities
Work closely with AmesburyTruth management team to support the quality management system, fulfillment of customer PPAP and APQP requirements and identify areas for measurement and implement systems to gather data as needed and monitor data to ensure target levels are achieved
This position will also play a key role in trouble-shooting product and manufacturing quality issues utilizing root cause analysis techniques, statistical analysis, and basic metrology
A high performer will be able to
Work knowledgably with the following quality systems : ISO9001, APQP, PPAP, FMEA , and Control Plans
Comprehend / communicate technical information. Utilize statistical techniques in problem solving
Perform and interpret Measurement Systems Analysis
Read computer generated reports, design specifications and engineering drawings
Travel internationally and domestically by plane and car
Operate independently and with a high degree of self motivation
Communicate with managers, colleagues, suppliers and customers
Write correspondence and trip reports
Handle multiple tasks smoothly with a high accountability level
Work as a Team Member towards overall company objectives
Requirements
2-4 year degree in a technical discipline, along with 3 to 5 years experience in quality in a manufacturing environment.
Good understanding of quality and statistical process control techniques as well as basic injection molding manufacturing processes.
Advanced certification (CQE, CQM, CQA) desired, but not required
Automotive background
Metrology background a plus
Knowledge of full Microsoft Office Suite required, experience with Minitab or other statistical packages preferred
The work performed is conducted in a climate-controlled facility with moderate noise levels that are within OSHA limits
Ability to lift up to 25-50 lbs on an occasional basis
