What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Nurse- Detox position at Amethyst Recovery Center?
We are a primary substance abuse treatment facility located in Port St Lucie . We provide detoxification and residential treatment. Our primary goal is to safely and effectively assist with the process of detoxifying the body from all mood and mind-altering substances. Along with detoxification services, applicable patients will have the opportunity to remain in residential treatment at our drug and alcohol rehab before transitioning into other levels of care.
We are currently seeking LPNs and RNs to join our nursing team. Ideally, we are looking for full-time night shift , as well as PRN available for night shift coverage, including weekends.
The successful candidate(s) MUST be able to work:
Night Shift: (7p.m -7a.m.)
Weekend availability is a MUST.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduated from an accredited college or university with a degree or diploma in Nursing, or completed nursing program.
- LPN or RN, licensed in good standing in the state of Florida.
EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of 1 years’ experience in a substance abuse/chemical dependency/psychiatric setting, preferably in a detox unit and/or inpatient setting required.
- Behavioral Health or Mental Health Experience is a plus.
- Experience with KIPU EMR, preferred.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
- LPN or RN, licensed in good standing in the state of Florida.
- Maintains current CPR.
- Valid State of Florida Driver’s License.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Completes required documentation within 24 hours of the patient’s admission to the program.
- Transcribes Physician/Provider’s Orders and Implement all Medical Protocols as ordered
- Administers medications and monitor detoxification process
- Provides documentation which reflects services for each patient in accordance with license standards.
- Meets with patients requesting to see the provider(s) to determine the urgency of their medical needs and expedite treatment as required.
- Effectively communicates concerns about patient health to the medical provider and follows up as necessary.
- Facilitates medication education for new patients and for all other patients starting new medications.
- Provides routine nursing care.
- Facilitate Medical Groups as directed.
- Attends in-service education programs as assigned to learn new forms, procedures, developmental skills, etc.
- Functions well as a team member and contribute positively to the morale of staff
- Maintains up-to-date training in CPR, First Aid, Crisis Intervention, Infection Control, Fire Safety, and other areas mandated by organizational policies
- Communicates effectively with other staff members and demonstrates the ability to work as a team member
- Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability, responding positively to changing situations in the work setting.
- Demonstrates objectivity and maturity under stress.
Starting hourly pay rate varies with credential (LPN or RN) and experience.
