The Position:

AMEWAS is seeking a highly motivated and talented Engineer (F-35 Mission Systems T&E)-Junior to support Advanced Aircraft Research, Development, Test & Evaluation. The salary range of this position is $90,000.00 - $140,000.00, and is commensurate with experience. This position is not eligible for remote work; on-site support is required.

Position Background:

The Digital Analytics, Infrastructure and Technology Advancement (DAiTA) Group is at the cutting edge of Advanced Aircraft Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (AARDT&E). Our state-of-the-art laboratories are equipped to work seamlessly together, enabling comprehensive testing and evaluation of aircraft and weapons systems across the Department of Defense. What sets the DAiTA Group apart is our exceptional ability to mitigate program risks by crafting intricate battlespace environments where cutting-edge concepts, advanced hardware and skilled warfighters can dive into the missions of both today and the future. The Integrated Battlespace Simulation and Test (IBST) Department is at the heart of this innovative ecosystem. This team is the driving force behind the research, development, management, design, documentation, fabrication, installation, integration, testing, evaluation, operation and maintenance of the Air Combat Environment Test Facility (ACETEF) and other DAiTA AARDT &E capabilities, laboratories and facilities. A typical day as an Engineer (F-35 Mission Systems T&E)-Junior may include:

• Works at the forefront of cutting-edge defense technology on the F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter program
• Tests and evaluates mission systems to ensure they meet operational requirements and performance standards
• Plans, designs and executes test and evaluation activities for F-35 mission systems, including avionics, radar, communications and electronic warfare systems
• Analyzes test data, identifies trends and reports on system performance, ensuring compliance with program requirements
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop and refine testing procedures, including software engineers, systems engineers and program managers
• Supports the development of test plans, test procedures and test reports following DoD and industry standards
• Participates in technical reviews, providing subject matter expertise on mission systems testing and evaluation
• Identifies and troubleshoots issues during testing, providing solutions to optimize system performance
• Ensures that all testing activities are conducted safely, securely and competently

Must-haves:

• BS Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field
• 1 year of experience in systems testing and evaluation
• Experience in data analysis and reporting
• Proficiency in test software and tools commonly used in defense system testing
• Experience with F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program or similar defense systems
• Familiarity with DoD test and evaluation processes and standards
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to work effectively in a team environment
• The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Security Clearance-Secret Clearance required to start

Desired Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of F-35 mission systems, including avionics, radar, communications and electronic warfare
• 1 year of experience in systems testing and evaluation within the aerospace or defense industry
• Current DoD Top Secret Security Clearance

Physical Environment and Working Conditions:

The physical environment requires the employee to work in an office, sitting in a cubicle or at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday.  Work is physically comfortable. The employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.

The employee may be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site.  In some occasions, the employee may be required to report to offices or buildings near the work site. Overnight travel will be required.

The physical environment requires the employee to stand, walk and/or move throughout the workday, often bending over and lifting items up to approximately 50 lbs.
