The Analyst – Capital Planning will be supporting the annual planning scenarios capital plan and stress testing process, monthly, quarterly capital ratio analysis and reporting, and a wide range of other capital analyses. The Analyst will work closely with the business partners to document strategies to integrate new capital requirements into enterprise business decisions and uplift existing processes for transformation. In addition, the analyst will gain exposure to strategic thinking around capital, including how senior management thinks about capital generation and distributions, as well as create presentations that will be viewed by Senior Management.
Responsibilities Include:
- Maintain and update capital adequacy models for the forecasting of capital ratios and capital distributions, including results of stress testing and impacts from dividends, share repurchases and acquisitions.
- Support the integration of new capital requirements into enterprise business decisions
- Assist in quarterly calculation of regulatory capital ratios, monthly planning scenarios and various other analysis including peer bank comparisons
- Update and maintain capital documentation, including AXP Capital Management Policy, Process Risk Self-Assessment (PRSA), and SOPs
- Partner with cross-functional teams including Funding, Corporate Planning and Analysis, Risk Finance, Controllership, Tax, Capital Enterprise Management Organization, Risk, Regulatory Reporting, Market Risk Oversight Group, and Technology to create enhancement plans.
- Assist in preparation of materials relating to capital for presentation to senior business leaders, the Capital Management Committee, the Asset-Liability Committee and AXP Board of Directors
Minimum Qualifications
- Excellent analytical abilities with strong attention to detail and the ability to work proactively and independently
- Strong problem-solving skills and a can-do attitude
- Must be highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
- Exceptional communication skills – verbal, written and through presentations. Ability to break down complex ideas into understandable and actionable messages
- Highly motivated self-starter with a record of driving results and ability to work with ambiguity
- Strong project management, organizational and time management skills, and a commitment to working in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in Treasury/Capital Management Space
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance or related
- Experience working with large data sets

Salary Range: $55,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually bonus benefits
