The Global Advertising and Brand Management (GABM) team is responsible for creating marketplace demand and driving commerce for American Express products and services through differentiated and innovative branding, marketing, and experiences. We have an ambitious goal: to be the most admired brand in the Fortune 500 and we aim to deliver on that by doing work that is both creative and effective. The Global Brand Content & Media team sits within GABM. We are responsible for building inspiring brand creative and assets to drive consideration for target audiences, effective placement through strategic media planning and buying and leveraging cultural marketing and brand platforms to support enterprise priorities.
We are seeking a Manager, Global Media Operations who will be responsible for:
Driving process and operational excellence across the broader Global Media & Analytics team
Demonstrate and increase the value of strategy, operations and process excellence as a key factor in achieving success
Provide a complete strategic perspective and supporting select projects across GBCM and other business units.
This role is an excellent opportunity to learn about marketing communications, be exposed to the most strategic brand work of the Enterprise and will interact regularly with members of the media and content teams. Additionally, this role will provide great exposure and a comprehensive view to wide-ranging business initiatives. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, tenacious, and not afraid of the detail – they must have a demonstrated ability in influencing, great collaborative approach, and strong leadership.
How will you make an impact in this role?
Key Strategic & Operational Initiatives
Enhance organizational performance & day to day operations through executing processes, templates etc.
Support efficiency and satisfaction through building new processes, improved workflow, better communication, operations and ways of working/models.
Partner with Control Management, Sponsorships, Digital Brand Products, GSM, GCO, Compliance, and Privacy on compliance & strategic-related initiatives.
Own Process Risk Self-Assessment (PRSA) and controls evidence collection for the Global Media team.
Leads annual Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documentation & updates.
Serve as key contact for wider Operations and Enablement team, including developing new programs and plans to improve and standardize processes and audit requirements.
Lead the creative approval process from offline review, to submitting creative into the internal system, Marketingforce for formal approval, and completing the submission by submitting post live screenshots.
Minimum Qualifications
Excellent project management, organizational and process/workflow skills.
Strong detail orientation with ability to think “end-to-end”.
Excellent relationship management skills - shown ability to build and strengthen relationships across all levels of management.
Have strong integrity and be able to handle projects of a sensitive and confidential nature.
Work well under pressure, be a flexible, collaborative colleague and balance multiple priorities with tight deadlines.
Shown ability to learn quickly, “connect the dots”, innovate, and drive results.
Preferred Qualification
- Prior experience in operational excellence, compliance, or risk strongly preferred.
Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually bonus benefits
