JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for managing and executing tire vehicle testing within North America for Kumho America Technical Center (KATC). This includes scheduling, obtaining quotes, acquiring test vehicles and wheels, ordering necessary benchmark tires, collecting test data, creating official test reports, and communicating results back to the requested tire engineer. Ability and willingness to travel within North America to test sites as programs dictate. Working with other KATC test drivers as well as other OEM test drivers to correlate testing procedures and evaluations. Collaborate with KATC tire engineers to continuously improve data collection process. Communicate with KATC warehouse technician to assist with shipping desired tires and or wheels.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage North America internal vehicle testing primarily Ride and Handling
- Schedule test tracks and obtain quotes through Proving Grounds
- Acquire test vehicles (rent/lease) and wheels (rent or KATC inventory)
- Arrange tire/wheel mounting and shipment to and from Proving Grounds
- Collect test data at Proving Ground, create reports and communicate results
- Manage North America external testing with third-party test evaluators
- Manage and schedule snow handling and traction testing
- Collaborate with tire engineers to improve data collection process
- Align with other Kumho test drivers for consistent test procedures and evaluations
- Ability and willingness to travel to proving grounds as programs dictate
REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES / EDUCATION
- 4-year Bachelors Degree in a technical field
- Prior tire test driver experience for vehicle testing (3 years)
- Computer (Microsoft Office) skills in data acquisition and analysis.
- Able to work independently as well as in a team.
- Motivated, engaged, communicative and willing to learn new methods and technology in testing.
DESIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES / EDUCATION
- Prior experience with Automotive OEM tire testing
- Working knowledge of tire engineering
- Experience with Tire mounting equipment operation
Must have:
Vehicle Testing – Experience with tire vehicle testing, including ride and handling.
Data Collection – Ability to collect, analyze, and report test data accurately.
Scheduling & Coordination – Skilled in scheduling test tracks, managing logistics, and obtaining quotes.
Vehicle Operation – Proficient in driving various test vehicles and handling tire/wheel mounting.
Technical Knowledge – Basic understanding of tire engineering and testing methodologies.
Report Creation – Ability to create detailed, clear, and accurate test reports.
Communication – Strong verbal and written communication skills to report results and collaborate with engineers.
Collaboration – Experience working with engineers, test drivers, and third-party evaluators.
Problem-Solving – Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to testing processes or logistics.
Travel Flexibility – Willingness to travel to proving grounds and test sites as required by programs.

Pay: $94,935.00 - $141,360.00 per year
