Job Summary:
AMF Bakery Systems is looking for a motivated and self-driven Assembly Coordinator to support Project Planning, Assembly, and Checkout operations. The Assembly Coordinator is responsible for receiving, distributing, and delivering critical materials to the Assembly teams, proactively analyzing risks to parts availability and driving solutions to ensure efficient assembly and on time completion of machines.
This role will report to the Operations Team Lead of the respective Product Group.
How You Will Impact AMF:
The Assembly Coordinator will be the key linkage between the Warehouse/Stock Room (parts supply), the Procurement team, the Richmond Machine Shop, and Assembly. The impact to AMF will be determined by the teammate's skills in collaborating with the Assembly team, prioritizing and communicating those needs with the Operations Team Lead and Supply Chain partners.
This role is seen as developmental in nature and will therefore assist with various administrative functions supporting all mechanical and electrical assembly operations.
Specifically, the Assembly Coordinator will:
Identify issues and propose solutions to improve efficiency
Confirm project inventory documentation to track critical shortages
Reduce part shortages, leading efforts to locate and transfer needed parts
Interface with the warehouse and other departments to improve material flow
Improve quality by performing visual inspections on parts delivered
Reduce machine cycle time on floor by facilitating faster builds
Stay connected to priorities by participating in floor rounds with the teammates daily
Execute parts returns and facilitate the defective material notification process
Support the team by performing and/or eliminating the need for various administrative functions
What Do You Need to Succeed (Included, but not limited to):
Some experience in warehousing or stockroom activities
Ability to use computer programs and enterprise management systems such as Microsoft Dynamics; proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel
Take initiative to track down and resolve issues, using problem-solving skills and a team-oriented approach to solve problems
Excellent organizational, oral, & written communication skills
Comfortable with working in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects with minimal oversight
Comfortable working with hands to handle parts up to 50 lbs and willing to assist assembly with shipping
Have or be able to obtain a fork truck certification
No degree required
Working Conditions:
Typical manufacturing facility conditions.
Indoors (95%) and outdoors (5%) working conditions
AMF facility is heated in winter, but not air conditioned in summer
Teammate must be able to stand on concrete floors for a minimum of eight hours. Kneeling, squatting, bending over and standing for long periods of time may be required to perform assigned tasks.
Can occasionally be loud, especially in local areas where grinding or machine testing is taking place. Ear plugs are provided, but not required
Safety glasses and steel-toed safety shoes are required
Long pants and a sleeved shirt (short sleeve at a minimum) are required
