Job Description :
AMF is looking for a leader of our R&D Center in Richmond, VA, which is also a test bakery environment. The successful candidate will have a blend of skills ranging from Mechanical Assembly, light electrical assembly, scientific testing methods, organization of test parameters and analysis of results, along with dough mixing, proofing and baking. Programming is not required but will be considered a valuable skill. This leadership position will also interface heavily with customers during proof-of-concept trials in the AMF Test Bakery, or at customer sites. This role will have a close working relationship with AMF FLEX R&D engineers for designing and evaluating new concepts for advancing the AMF solutions for bakers around the world. AMF operates and supports other AMF Bakery Innovation Centers in Europe as well as a partner Pilot Bakery in New Jersey. This role will work closely with those other Innovation Centers to develop new technology for AMF's customers.
Job Duties Include :
- Mechanical Assembly to build prototypes
- Light electrical assembly experience helpful
- Organization of research trials, testing methods and analysis
- Project management skills to keep R&D projects organized and to meet deadlines
- Setup of test parameters and analysis of results
- Organization of the Test Bakery Area and ensuring maintenance is up to date
- Dough mixing, proofing and baking in our lab scale bakery
- Ensuring adequate supplies of ingredients and pans, plus other supplies needed for dough trials are on hand
- PLC and HMI Programming, also AutoCad / 3d Mechanical Engineering experience, is not required but will be considered a valuable skill.
