The Academic Assistant supports Education Coordinators in delivering educational content, supervising students, and creating a positive learning environment with patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed. The Academic Assistant works closely with Education Coordinators in a classroom setting to ensure students receive appropriate academic and behavioral support, contributing to their overall development and success.

QUALIFICATIONS :
Must be 18 years or older to apply for this position.
Successful completion of the ADP Selective Screening Services background check as well as any other state, federal or company required background / record check.
Minimum Education Requirement : High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience Requirement : At least 6 months of working with adolescents in an educational setting.
CPR / First Aid Certification
Current T.B. clearance
Physical Requirements : Ability to work on a computer / keyboard, use electronic systems, communicate with others through written and verbal formats, ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time, ability to climb stairs, listening, reading comprehension, lifting up to 20 lbs.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities :
Knowledge of classroom technology and tools.
Ability to select and use training / instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things.
Ability to communicate with family members, clients, and other staff members professionally and respectfully.
Ability to operate standard office machines and equipment, including telephones, computers, copy machines, fax machines, calculators, scanners, and shredders.
Ability to be professional and maintain a positive attitude and relationships with coworkers.
Excel at both written and verbal communications to convey essential information; must be able to utilize the proper linguistic syntax and spelling.
Ability to use computer software including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and G Suite products.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Assist the Education Coordinator(s) in setting up the learning environment and educational materials.
Assist in managing classroom equipment and inventory, prepare materials for lessons, including photocopying and organizing supplies.
Support the delivery of instructional activities, including one-on-one tutoring.
Providing support during times of crisis to maintain a safe and trauma informed environment.
Support classroom activities with the supervision of the Education Coordinator(s) and the Clinical Supervisor to ensure a safe and productive learning atmosphere and act as a liaison between the academic team, clients, and parents as required.
Provide individualized support to clients with learning or behavioral challenges.
Monitor clients’ progress and report observations to the Education Coordinator(s) while fostering positive relationships with clients, encouraging their participation and engagement.
Enforce classroom rules and address disciplinary issues as needed while guiding clients in developing appropriate social and academic behaviors.
Maintain accurate records of student goals, assignments, and progress.
Collaborate with the Education Coordinator(s) and program staff to address individual client needs.
