Yoga Instructor (Part-Time)

Location: Northern Virginia (Vienna, Fairfax Station, Great Falls, Annandale)

Schedule: Very flexible on days - only requirement is at least one weekend day and will be responsible for conducting 6 groups per week.

Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Yoga Instructor to join our multidisciplinary team. In this role, you'll facilitate therapeutic yoga sessions with a focus on supporting individuals experiencing severe mental health challenges. Your guidance will help promote mindfulness, relaxation, and emotional healing in a structured clinical setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate therapeutic yoga groups using evidence-based practices
• Tailor sessions to support clients with mood disorders, trauma, substance use, and suicidal ideation
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in our Electronic Health Records system
• Collaborate with clinical staff and contribute to treatment planning
• Adhere to Joint Commission and Virginia DSS regulations
• Attend team meetings, trainings, and supervision sessions
• Ensure all therapeutic interventions align with ethical and professional standards
  
  

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• Certified Yoga Instructor (RYT-200 or higher)
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience working with individuals with acute mental health needs
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in recreational therapy or related field
• Familiarity with co-occurring disorders, insurance documentation, and regulatory compliance
• Previous work in residential or clinical mental health settings
  
  

Additional Requirements

• Must pass background checks (DBHDS, VDSS Registry, and others as required)
• Flexible schedule and reliable transportation between facility locations
• Ability to meet documentation timelines (within 24 hours of session)
• Professionalism and adherence to ethical standards at all times
