CDnA - Senior Director, Commercial Data Science
What you will do

In this vital role the Senior Director of Data Science within the Customer Data & Analytics team is accountable for owning standards and solutions for Data Science and Omni-channel Analytics for Amgens commercial organization. In addition, the Senior Director must manage relationships across a complex internal set of teams and functional groups.
This position reports to the Associate Vice President, Portfolio Effectiveness and Optimization and will be responsible for the following
Flexible Commuter role to either our Thousand Oaks, CA or our Deerfield, IL office. You will work on-site 2 to 3 days a week.
- Oversees Data Science and Omni-channel Analytics team with responsibility for standards, processes and tools across Omnichannel analytics, predictive modeling, AI / ML modeling, Customer Analytics, Gen AI, and other large-scale data modeling projects in support of the commercial organization
- Experience in AI, Machine Learning, quantitative methods, multivariate statistics, predictive modeling and other analytics frameworks / techniques with 8 years of experience delivering complex analytical projects
- Partners with collaborators and peers across the organization to bring consistent approaches across the portfolio to solving complex business problems that use scalable and production-grade AI / ML solutions
- Lead globally-distributed teams and implement standard methodologies to divide processes into segments to be done across geographies and then to assemble insights to be presented in a consultative manner to partners
- Working with partners and organically design & implement pilots and then work with DTI organization to deploy as a scalable operational solution.
- Provides Data Science capability through relevant data science certifications and Biopharmaceutical industry expertise and direction to the CD&A organization
- Maintain an awareness of current research and standard methodologies in the field of data analytics, including best practices in analytics and changes in the landscape that would impact the ability to conduct analytics and proactively assess next steps Stop, Continue, Optimize current strategic roadmap
- Leads the development and execution of commercial Data Science priorities and roadmap
- Leads efforts to anticipate and plan for Data science activities of the future through market sensing, customer / account pulse and assessment of industry trends
- Primary point of contact for senior Commercial leaders to engage with data and omni-channel analytics
- Engages and communicates with key stakeholders on the impact, status and success of Data Science capability initiatives
- Develops, coaches, leads, and retains a dynamic, high-performing Data and Decision Sciences team delivering results, and shaping the future
What we expect of you

Basic Qualifications :
Doctorate degree and 5 years of experience in statistics, operations research, mathematics, econometrics, business administration or a quantitative field
Masters degree and 9 years of experience in statistics, operations research, mathematics, econometrics, business administration or a quantitative field
Bachelors degree and 11 years of experience in statistics, operations research, mathematics, econometrics, business administration or a quantitative field
In addition to meeting at least one of the above requirements, you must have at least 5 years experience directly managing people and / or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs, or directing the allocation or resources. Your managerial experience may run concurrently with the required technical experience referenced above

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is $216,395.00 to $281,728.00. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
