The Amherst County Parks and Recreation Department is looking for an Office Manager. This key position serves as the hub of the department providing administrative support to the Recreation Director and department staff, assisting visitors, answering and processing incoming calls, and keeping the department organized and running smoothly.
The competitive candidate will have an associates or technical degree with coursework in administrative technology or a related field and considerable experience in administrative support, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with financial expenditure accounting, statistical reporting and desktop publishing will set a candidate apart.
A valid Virginia driver’s license is also required.

The hiring range starts at $40,416 and the salary is dependent on qualifications and experience. This is a full-time position with full County benefits. Amherst County offers a generous benefit package including participation in the Virginia Retirement System which includes a traditional pension and deferred compensation with employer match, employer paid life and disability insurance, vacation and sick leave, affordable medical, dental and vision insurance, etc.
