Job Summary: We are seeking a custodian to perform semi-skilled work cleaning school building interiors, maintaining grounds, and related tasks as assigned.
Main Responsibilities:
Physical Demands: This work requires regular exertion of up to 10 pounds of force, frequent exertion of up to 25 pounds of force, occasional exertion of up to 50 pounds of force. Work regularly requires standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle or feel, and pushing or pulling; frequently requires speaking or hearing and lifting; occasionally requires sitting, climbing or balancing. Work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels.
Requirements: General knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment; ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions; ability to read; thoroughness, cleanliness; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates. High school diploma or high school equivalency certificate, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
Contract Period: 12 months

Main Responsibilities:
- Open and secure buildings
- Clean assigned areas, move tables and chairs, remove trash, and maintain porch areas
- Scrub, clean, and sanitize restrooms, clean walls, and remove graffiti
- Dust furniture, windowsills, and other woodwork, clean windows, and sanitize drinking fountains
- Mow grass, weed eat, remove leaves, replace light bulbs, and ceiling tiles
- Haul books and papers, move furniture, clean up spills, and sanitize areas following incidents
- Assist with overseeing car-riding students entering and exiting the facility, assist maintenance technicians, and perform snow removal and ice control
- Perform various other tasks associated with the custodial profession
