Duties
- Perform insurance verification for patients prior to their appointments to ensure coverage and eligibility.
- Manage and maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Coordinate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to claims.
- Assist in coding medical procedures accurately for billing purposes, utilizing knowledge of medical coding standards.
- Provide support to patients regarding their insurance inquiries and assist them in understanding their benefits.
- Collaborate with the dental office team to streamline processes related to insurance claims and patient care.
- Stay updated on changes in managed care policies and procedures that may affect the practice.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a dental office setting, preferably as an Insurance Coordinator or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, coding , and insurance verification processes.
- Familiarity with managed dental office operations.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in handling sensitive information.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating effective communication skills.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Proficiency in using office software, Eaglesoft .
