Amherst Middle School is seeking a 7th Grade English Language Arts teacher to join their learning community as a long term substitute from May to June 2025. Approximate start date is May 15th, ending at the conclusion of the 2024-2025 school year (around June 12).
Requirements:
- Successful experience and/or training in the field or level within the last five years.
- NH Teacher Certification in the following endorsements will be considered: Elementary Education (1811), English 5-8 (0501),
English 5-12 (0500)
- Bachelor's Degree or higher
- Demonstrated commitment to, "Engage, Support and Challenge All Learners."
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues to support a positive school climate
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with standards-based grading and competency education
- Proficiency in creating and implementing performance-based assessment in the classroom
- Demonstrated strategies for differentiation at all levels to support a Multi-Tiered System of Supports model
- Demonstrated instructional skills at the middle school level.
- Ability to incorporate brain-based and social emotional learning strategies into instruction
- Enthusiastic, articulate, creative, people-oriented, and caring.
- Expert in working with middle school-aged students and their families.
- Excellent communication skills, well-developed collaborative skills and organizational skills.
