6th Grade Spanish Teacher

The Amherst Public School District is currently seeking candidates for a Sixth Grade Spanish Teacher at Fort River Elementary in our Spanish/English Dual Language program. This is a full-time and school-year position.

Preferred Qualifications: A successful candidate will be enthusiastic about and committed to bilingual education and the program mission. The individual will demonstrate the ability to plan and implement a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students in acquiring grade level content knowledge and Spanish Language skills. Furthermore, the individual will create a safe and welcoming classroom environment that is conducive to learning, develops students’ academic, language, and social-emotional skills, and reflects the cultures of the student population. Successful candidates will effectively collaborate to meet diverse student needs.

Job Requirements:

Applicants must hold a valid Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education license as K-6 teacher and a Bilingual Education Endorsement. Applicants must be fully bilingual and able to teach all content in Spanish. Bi-cultural applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.

Predictive Index® Cognitive Assessment (if applicable) – A 12-minute timed assessment measuring your ability to learn and adapt. This is not an IQ test, and there are no “good” or “bad” scores.
