What are the responsibilities and job description for the Asphalt Paver/Screed Operator position at AMI Construction, Inc.?
The Asphalt Paver/Screed Operator will assist in overseeing personnel and activities of their crew to meet company production schedules and quality specifications. Potential candidates must have the knowledge and skill to pave up to industry standards. The role is best suited for a team player who is action oriented, and can work with a firm, yet considerate disposition.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform work in accordance with local and commercial specifications.
- Recruit, train, and retain crew members and ensure they are focused on safety, quality, and productivity. The time.
- Complete jobs within budget and on time.
- Coordinate between other crews, subs, and vendors.
- Read blueprints, calculate mix, and implement architectural plans and specifications (application rates, slope, drainage, etc.)
- Instruct crew members in a professional manner in order to relay expectations and instill motivation.
- Work alongside crew members and assist in all capacities of applications.
- Work with the management team to stay updated on product knowledge and be informed of any changes.
- Respond to internal and external requests and provide high quality support to customers and colleagues.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism with clients and work to establish a positive rapport with every contact.
- Perform other duties as assigned. The time it takes to complete
Skills Needed:
- Must be able to operate a Paver/Screed. Ability to operate a Roller, and Skid Steer is a plus.
- Minimum 2-3 years asphalt experience required.
- Strong analytical ability, quantitative and problem-solving skills, and excellent communication/interpersonal skills.
- Confidentiality and trustworthiness.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00 - $32.00 per hour
