Buyer/Planner
Job Purpose
We are seeking an experienced Buyer/Planner to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience with SAP and a solid background in a manufacturing environment. This role requires a proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced setting and can adapt to frequent changes. The Buyer/Planner will be responsible for managing procurement and planning activities for our facilities in the USA and Canada, ensuring seamless operations and effective collaboration across all levels of employees.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage procurement processes, including sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials and services.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and quality of materials.
- Utilize SAP for planning and inventory management to optimize production schedules.
- Coordinate with various departments to align procurement and production plans.
- Monitor inventory levels and adjust orders as necessary to meet production demands.
- Analyze market trends and supplier performance to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Prepare and present reports on procurement activities and performance metrics.
- Travel up to 20% to oversee operations and collaborate with teams at different facilities.
Education and Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with SAP in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record of successful procurement and planning in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of employees.
- Ability to adapt to frequent changes and manage multiple priorities.
- Willingness to travel up to 20%.
Preferred Skills
- Certification in supply chain management or related field.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Work Environment
- Professional office environment and occasional field environment may occur
