What are the responsibilities and job description for the DSP (Direct Support Professional)-Residential Specialist position at AMIB, Inc?
The Direct Support Professional-Residential Specialist position is direct care, hands-on and offers assistance with personal care, hygiene, medication administration, and daily living skills for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities and visual impairments. DSP's provide support services to individuals in the community and in group homes.
- Provide compassionate care and support to individuals with disabilities in a residential setting.
- Assist with daily living activities (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor patient health and behavior.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment, ensuring adherence to hygiene standards.
- Foster social interactions and community engagement, promoting independence and well-being.
The ideal Direct Support Professional candidates must have compassion, patience and enjoy encouraging others to achieve their goals.
Must have Driver License valid in NJ with no more than 5 points, HS Diploma or GED, ability to pass criminal background checks & drug screen successfully.
