Job Overview:
The Underwriting Technical Analyst plays a crucial role within the Life Underwriting Operations team, driving technical strategy and projects to develop innovative software solutions with a focus on emerging technologies.
Responsibilities:
Work Schedule:
The 37.5-hour work week is scheduled from Monday through Friday, between the core hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
Work from home will be available up to two days a week after completing training and demonstrating the ability to work independently.

Job Overview:
The Underwriting Technical Analyst plays a crucial role within the Life Underwriting Operations team, driving technical strategy and projects to develop innovative software solutions with a focus on emerging technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Support the Operations team in prioritizing projects and initiatives, aligning them with the organization's strategic and operational goals.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with diverse teams to gather business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
- Requirements Documentation: Understand and create comprehensive user stories, author requirement artifacts, and develop detailed technical project documentation, including mapping requirements for integration into the policy administration system.
- Technical Oversight: Gain a thorough understanding of the technical processes from end to end, collaborating with developers to identify optimal solutions that meet user and business needs.
- User Support: Provide assistance to end users when issues arise, ensuring proper reporting and prioritization with Technology Services while identifying potential workarounds.
- Business Analysis: Analyze complex business challenges and propose IT solutions that enhance operational efficiency.
- Application Maintenance: Enhance, maintain, and troubleshoot business applications, including application endpoints/APIs and databases.
- Requirements Mapping: Thoroughly document requirements related to User Interface changes, database alterations, data model updates, and logic modifications.
- System Implementation: Design, implement, and upgrade information systems to meet evolving business and user needs.
- Workflow Automation: Demonstrate proficiency in workflow automation, UI policies, data policies, actions, business rules, and client scripts.
- Rules Engine Management: Maintain and update logic in the underwriting rules engine and workbench.
- Project Engagement: Identify system needs and implement departmental projects, driving process improvements both within the department and across the organization.
- Mentoring and Training: Provide guidance and training to team members as needed.
- Additional Duties: Take on other responsibilities as required by the organization.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience in the Life Insurance industry or underwriting preferred.
- Solid understanding of the full lifecycle of system development, from conception through architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Familiarity with Agile methodology and related tools.
- Prior experience with underwriting rules engines and automation is a plus.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Strong multitasking abilities and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the capability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Familiarity with Web services, XML, JSON, and APIs is advantageous.
