Job Title: Flexo Press Operator

Department: Labels and Packaging

Pay Range: $27 to $40.00 per hour depending upon experience.

Schedule: This position will work five, eight hour days (M-F) or four ten hour days (M-TH or Tu-Fri)

Job Purpose:

Responsible for the setup, running, cleanup, and general maintenance of Mark Andy Presses.

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

· Satisfactory attendance is an essential function of the job.

· Read and understand each job ticket and work instructions, verifying all information without supervision.

· Examine the supplied proof for each job and compare to the work order parameters.

· Accurately set up and record each item on the work order during setup for accuracy.

· Make accurate entries into the computer systems.

· Properly mix and color match inks.

· Understand and perform all required test and inspections that confirm proper ink and substrate compatibility. Properly tune in dies and perform die strikes.

· Safely set up and run equipment per specifications and run jobs within allotted time frame.

· Thoroughly inspect product before obtaining the required sign off.

· Closely monitor all runs during processing, ensuring consistency and high quality throughout every job.

· Assure that proper counts are achieved and flag all appropriate materials accordingly.

· Install all inks, plates, and tooling into the press with care and precision.

· Fine tune all plates and dies.

· Properly break down all jobs when complete

· Responsible for daily basic maintenance and adherence to preventive maintenance schedules.

· Keep press area and equipment clean and in good operating condition.

· Help perform inventory.

Education/License/Credentials

Required: High school or equivalent.

Preferred: Trade school

Related Experience

5 years of Flexo Press Experience

Experience with narrow web label press

Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Required: Strong mechanical aptitude.

Preferred: Understanding of inks and PMS color mixing, pressure sensitive substrates, as well as rotary dies and other press mechanics.

Preferred: Knowledge of Mark Andy
