Job Title: Lead K-12 Tutor (Bilingual: English & Spanish) – Coral Gables Location
Company Overview:
Amigos Tutoring was founded in 2019 and now operates six locations in Miami-Dade County and one in Broward County. We provide tutoring services for Kindergarten through 12th grade students, helping them improve their academic performance and prepare for standardized tests.
We are currently hiring a lead tutor for our Coral Gables location. This role requires an experienced tutor who can manage the location independently, including opening and closing duties.
Position Overview:
This is an in-person tutoring position where you will work with students of different age groups, primarily Kindergarten and 1st grade students, many of whom require strong classroom management skills. You must be comfortable handling behavioral challenges while maintaining an engaging and structured learning environment.
You will also be responsible for communicating directly with parents, providing them with progress updates, and visually demonstrating the student’s learning progress using our curriculum.
Work Schedule:
- Monday – Thursday: 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM
- Friday availability is a plus
Mandatory Requirements:
- 1-2 years of prior tutoring experience is required – This must be from a tutoring center, aftercare program, or a similar structured educational setting. Informal experience does not count.
- Bilingual (English & Spanish) – We serve many students and parents who do not speak English. Fluency in Spanish is required. If you do not speak Spanish, please do not apply.
- Strong classroom management skills – Many students in this location are in Kindergarten and 1st grade and require structured guidance.
- Ability to communicate with parents – You must be able to explain student progress, curriculum details, and showcase results in a clear and professional manner.
- Flexibility – Sessions will include 1 to 4 students at a time. We do not provide private one-on-one tutoring.
- Reliable transportation – You must have your own car or a consistent way to arrive on time.
Responsibilities:
- Run the Coral Gables location – Responsible for opening and closing the center and ensuring a smooth tutoring experience.
- Tutor students in K-12 subjects, with a strong focus on early childhood education (K-1) and behavioral management.
- Work closely with students and parents, ensuring they understand the progress and effectiveness of the tutoring program.
- Provide structured lessons using our prebuilt curriculum, worksheets, and homework assignments.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional learning environment.
- Track and report student progress to improve end-of-year exam outcomes.
