Position Summary
The Accounting Manager role oversees financial and accounting functions for AMIkids; applies AMIkids policies and procedures, and applicable local, state, and federal requirements; maintains compliance with accounting standards and regulations; and support decision making to improve AMIkids financial health.
Essential Job Duties
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the accounting department-multiple accounting functions for accurate and timely preparation and dissemination of financial management reports, internal and external monthly financial statements and annual audits and budgets,
- Direct, monitor and develop Team Member performance and provide guidance and development in identified areas, provide credible feedback and complete performance appraisals, staffing / recruiting timely,
- Protect assets through monitoring and enforcement of internal controls,
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements for AMIkids and Programs,
- Support preparation of quarterly consolidated financial statements,
- Support preparation of quarterly detailed analysis of AMIkids financial statement,
- Monitor cash flow, including forecasting cash flow needs, and notify appropriate Leaders of cash needs,
- Evaluate accounting processes and systems and implement optimization; update applicable policies and practices; ensure compliance through Team Member communication, training, monitoring and partnership with the Internal Audit Department,
- Monitor systems and controls verifying the integrity of all systems, processes, and data,
- Coordinate with the Controller to execute the external audit,
- Ensure adherence to accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls,
- May travel for work related purposes,
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
