Description:
- The Senior Site Quality Specialist is responsible for the implemented quality program on projects to confirm projects are fabricated/installed, examined, tested, and documented in accordance with the project specifications, governing codes of construction, and contract documents.
- Assist the Construction Quality Section Manager with managing and mentoring quality personnel relative to work scope, complexity, and logistics.
- Assist with specification reviews in an effort to develop the Construction Quality Plan for the project.
- Work with Engineering to address elevated quality requirements.
- Develop Inspection and Test Plans with collaboration from the project team and verify execution through assessments.
- Review and confirm compliance of subcontractor Quality submittals as required, and their Inspection and Test Plans.
- Read preparatory meetings and communicate the contractual quality requirements to the subcontractors so that quality objectives may be achieved.
- Proactively support the successful implementation of the Construction Quality Plan, including key processes (e.g. document mgmt., material mgmt., special processes, etc.) and when necessary elevate opportunities to the Project Lead.
- Staying ahead of installation activities and communicating any complexities associated with upcoming work.
- Monitor and when required, inspect fabricated/installed products and services to confirm they comply with project specifications and drawings and results documented, as required.
- Review quality verification documents to confirm all attributes are addressed as they are issued and confirm compliance with the specifications and drawings.
- Manage the "punch list process" and perform acceptance inspections of completed items when required.
- Manage weekly quality meetings with clients and subcontractors.
- Responsible for recommendations, enhancements, and changes to the Quality Management System.
- Confirm conditions adverse to quality (nonconformances) are identified, segregated, documented, dispositioned, and tracked through acceptance and closure.
- Confirm Welding Procedure Specifications and associated Procedure Qualification Records are reviewed by the Welding Subject Matter Expert.
- Analyze procedures to support the preferred approach to specific activities.
- Assist the Construction Quality Manager with assigning Welding Procedure Specifications to the applicable weldments.
- Assist in the set-up and tracking of welder-to-weld traceability.
- Track project quality metrics.
- Confirm that project turnover packages are populated and correspond to project activities.
- Comply with all Safety & Health requirements and monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to safety standards.
- Participate in the Task Safety Observations (TSO) process and define corrective measures for problem areas
- Performs other duties as assigned - Complies with all policies and standards
Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED and 11 years of relevant experience in implementing and managing a quality program required or Associate Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Welding Technology, Nondestructive Examination, or related field. and 9 years relevant experience in implementing and managing a quality program Required or bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, Welding Technology, Nondestructive Examination, or related field. and 7 years relevant experience in implementing and managing a quality program required
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced technical writing experience is required.
- Certified Welding Inspector
- AWS Required
