As an Independent Freight Agent, you will be responsible for soliciting freight services from customers, coordinating transportation, dispatching loads to drivers, and monitoring freight until it reaches its final destination. We take care of all the back-office administrative tasks and support services, allowing you to focus on selling and moving freight.
We are an asset-based brokerage and trucking company looking to expand our network of freight agents. While having an existing book of business is a plus, it is not required.

- Driver and Customer Communication: Handle all incoming calls from drivers and customers, ensuring excellent service and prompt responses.
- Business Development: Make outbound cold calls to potential new customers to generate freight business.
- Fleet Monitoring: Monitor electronic messages for the entire fleet and respond to drivers' requests and inquiries in a timely manner.
- Issue Handling: Address any overages, shortages, and damages (O.S.&D) as they arise and manage accidents promptly.
- Documentation: Complete all necessary computer work for loaded calls, empty calls, relays, etc.
- Interpersonal Skills: Effective interpersonal skills that foster a service-oriented and collaborative environment, including diplomacy, tact, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
- Organization and Planning: Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
- Self-Motivation: Capability to work independently with little supervision.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated ability to creatively solve problems and explore alternative solutions for new challenges.
- Effective Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, employing a high level of diplomacy and tact.
- Technical Proficiency: Broad understanding of and proficiency in using PCs and software applications, including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, and MS PowerPoint.
- Availability: Willingness to work 15-20 hours a week to maximize commission sales goals.
- Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in B2B telemarketing or inside sales.
