Purchasing Agent

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Agent to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring that our supply chain operates efficiently and effectively. This role requires strong negotiation skills, an understanding of inventory management, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments to meet organizational needs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement purchasing strategies that align with company goals.
• Manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of goods.
• Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their offerings.
• Negotiate orders with vendors to secure advantageous terms and pricing.
• Work with Project Managment to coordinate logistics and maintain optimal project timing
• Utilize QuickBooks for tracking purchases and managing inventory.
• Collaborate with teams to support part number establishment and engineering documentation.
• Analyze purchasing data to identify trends, reduce duplicity, and improve purchasing processes.

Experience

• Must have working knowledge and experience with QuickBooks, or equivalent
• Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and their impact on purchasing decisions is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of parts management principles and logistics operations.
• Proficiency in using procurement systems and software; QuickBooks
• Excellent negotiation skills with a keen ability to buy, sell, and work with vendors effectively.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in purchasing decisions.
