Amkor Technology Arizona is looking for a University Relations and Workforce Development Manager. This position plays a crucial role in the organization's human resources department and will assist with data analytics, staffing and general HR responsibilities. This position will initially be based at Amkor's corporate headquarters in Tempe, AZ, but will eventually reside in Peoria, AZ.
- Design, develop, and execute site-wide University Relations and Academic Relations strategies to meet the demands of a complex and fast-growing manufacturing start-up environment.
- In partnership with leadership, identify the top 5-10 University list based on current and future forecasted workforce needs, establishing formal partnerships with all institutions.
- Lead the development of a competitive campus recruitment strategy, building strong relationships with targeted universities, community colleges, trade schools. Use technology to proactively engage, pre-screen and secure top talent.
- Build and maintain relationships with K-12 schools, career technical development programs and districts, to create interest in careers through targeted engagement and outreach programs, to introduce pathways into Amkor Technology Arizona's talent pipeline.
- Establish and maintain relationships within community organizations, and professional associations to increase the availability and access to a highly qualified candidate pool.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders in both Arizona and Korea to forecast talent needs and provide frequent updates on pipeline programs and hiring statuses.
- Analyze and report key recruitment metrics to assess team performance, refine strategies, and inform leadership on program success.
- Develop and oversee the annual calendar of talent recruitment events, ensuring alignment with business priorities and managing resource planning and budgets.
- Create and implement Amkor Technology Arizona's apprenticeship, pre-apprenticeship, internship and rotational programs to attract, engage, and convert top-tier talent.
- Responsible for event coordination, candidate pipeline management, and program logistics, ensuring seamless execution.
- Drive diversity recruitment strategies by building pipelines, fostering partnerships with student organizations, and representing Amkor Technology Arizona at diversity-focused events.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, scalability, and candidate experience across early talent programs.
- Partners with the CHIPS Intermediary to ensure alignment to Amkor Technology Arizona's workforce strategies and solutions to meet those strategies.
- Assist with recruiting efforts by helping to source and interview potential applicants, checking references, and performing background checks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of deep, relevant experience in the areas of talent acquisition; university relations, early talent management and other disciplines within Human Resources is a plus.
- Understanding of and the ability to drive HR best practices related to university relations and workforce development.
- Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and resume databases.
- Demonstrated experience with trackable success in sourcing, interviewing, and evaluating candidates across all group functions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication as well as interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with MS Excel and PowerPoint.
- Semiconductor/Advance Manufacturing start-up and ramp experience is highly preferred.
- Prior experience working in a diverse, multi-cultural environment is preferred.
- Previous experience in the semiconductor/advanced manufacturing industry is highly desired.
Location:
This role will initially work in our Tempe, AZ, Global Headquarters location but will later transition to our new factory location in Peoria, AZ. This position will be onsite but will have flexibility for remote work on occasion.
