Amkor is recruiting for a Sr. Engineer, UNIX/Linux that will provide day-to-day support, build new servers, develop automation using various scripting languages such as Shell, Bash, Perl or Python, and provide maintenance. The successful candidate will be a Linux server administrator who has a passion around automation in an enterprise organization. This position is based out of Amkor's corporate offices in Tempe, AZ.
- Provide support to over 150 servers, primarily virtualized, including patching and upgrades.
- Follow enterprise change and release management best practices.
- Work across global organizational teams to meet project deadlines.
- Contribute to high impact projects that involve any aspect of UNIX/Linux Infrastructure.
- Amkor is a multi-national corporation, participate in on-call work responsibilities and occasional off-hours work.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in an IT related discipline highly preferred, but equivalent education and experience will be considered.
- A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a Red Hat Linux (RHEL) System Administrator in an enterprise organization.
- Demonstrated scripting skills such as: Shell, Bash, Perl and/or Python.
- Experience refreshing hardware and upgrading the OS.
- Experience with clustering, preferably Pacemaker.
- Must be motivated and self-driven for success.
- This position requires effective interpersonal and verbal/written communications skills.
- Must be able to interpret technical issues in a way that will allow facilitation to a resolution.
- Prior experience working within global operations is highly desired.
- Experience with Red Hat Satellite is preferred.
- Linux to Active Directory Integration experience is desired.
- RHCSA certification is a plus.
- Oracle Linux experience is a plus.
